Modern living offers all the bliss we can imagine for life. But as a result, our environment suffers the tremendous consequences. Take for instance home cleaning agents. These are often made from harmful chemical which are not very favorable for us. It can affect not just our environment but also our health. This may be a necessity but can also affect our lives negatively.

But one thing we always miss is the power from nature. Cleansing agents are very effective in cleaning stubborn dirt and microorganisms that have made contact with our clothes or even kitchen. And in order to lessen the use of chemicals, why not use solar power instead?

Yes, solar power does not only come with powering our homes through solar panels but can be as well a powerful disinfectant. For those that do not know yet, ultraviolet light from the sun is a powerful disinfectant which can generally kill almost all microorganisms like bacteria. This is a good way to use it on your laundry or other home applications.

One good way to do it is by exposing your room to direct sunlight. Opening your windows or doors if possible, can let the light into your room. This way you are giving your room a good way to be disinfected properly without those harmful chemical which comes with common household cleansers.

Cleaning your heavy garments like denim could also be very tasking. But then exposing it to the sun would help out a lot. The ultraviolet light, together with sun’s heat, helps in loosening up of the stubborn dirt. This can lessen the use of harmful chemical on your clothes which can cause allergic reaction to some individuals.

Drying up your garbage could also make use of the sun’s disinfectant properties. Though you may just wrap it around and throw it, exposing it with solar light could kill microbes which can cause unwanted house odors which are very disgusting.

You may even make use of solar light to kill an infection which has been infesting your garden. Cutting the affected part and exposing to it to solar light, in isolated container, will help stop the spread on infection.

These are just some point on which you can make use of solar light. And there plenty more on which you can explore. There’s no limit to it. All you have to do is to think of a way to use it for your home.
